OPERATIONS AND ACTIVITIES

Today, Colonia Free Zone concentrates most of the operations registered in all the Free Zones of Uruguay. Commercial companies installed in Colonia Free Zone may carry out:

  • Import of Capital Goods and Tradable Goods from third countries, exempted from import duties.
  • Export to third countries of goods in the same status and with transformation processes.
  • Introduction to national territory of sold part, reducing financial costs of nationalizing goods to maintain stock.

LOGISTICS CENTER FOR TRADE

Logistics plays an increasingly important role and together with the technological development, it has enabled an overall improvement of processes. There are companies established in CFZ that offer integrated logistic services:

Development of Information Systems, Distribution Channels and Transportation at a lower cost for new tracking systems for inventory control through internet.

Coordination of reception and delivery of goods from and to the warehouses up to the delivery to the end client requires synchronization and tracking, preservation and safety conditions required for each product as well as the quality of their handling, packing conditions, recording of each stage of the process, documentation and compliance with the procedures indicated by the client.

Entrepreneurs may reduce costs, whether by buying gas at the global market price, hiring insurances with the company they deem convenient or generate their own energy or communication system, given that monopolies of services of industrial domain such as ANCAP and STATE INSURANTE BANK do not reach Colonia Free Zone.
